The end of summer doesn’t mean you need to give up on getting dressed. In fact, this is where you can define how you put together an outfit without sacrificing your style. I’m breaking down 5 ways to stay cool without defaulting to the same tank and shorts on repeat.
Don’t forget your layers!
You read that and probably thought I had heat stroke since hot weather makes layering feel completely unnecessary. However! That does not mean you shouldn’t layer your look. Stay away from jackets and sweaters (obviously) and instead, pick accessories that stand out. I’m talking layering your jewelry, adding a textured bag, even fun sunglasses that will add a sense of depth to your look without the extra bulk. That is how you layer in the summer.
Linen will be your best friend
Actually, any breathable fabric will make getting dressed immediately easier. Think a cotton poplin, linen, or a lightweight rayon that will breathe and not stick to you. Anything polyester or heavy will stay trapped against your skin, no matter how “summery” the piece looks. Always check the fabric before you get dressed if you’re unsure.
